I give myself a 3 day weekend. Well...actually, I usually end up skipping a day (or two...or three) during the week so Friday is my catch up day...or Saturday...or Sunday......Yeah, sometimes I just wait until the following week and catch up day becomes the day I was supposed to do the task anyways.
But today I was VERY good. I got almost all my chores done and some extra tasks I have long been neglecting! I dusted all the room and vacuumed the kids' rooms. I did not vacuum the living room...but I have a feeling I will do that before I tuck in for the night. I also washed the laundry and got yesterday's laundry and part of last Thursday's laundry put away............again with the laundry.
Oliver's Room so nice and clean!
Leah's Room, equally nice and clean!
I also took the time and undertook one of the tasks that usually causes me to FREAK OUT! I had the momentum, so I went with it! (where is that when I should be working out?)
I rotated out toys from Oliver down to Leah and from Leah down to Anthony. Now their closets are organized as well.

I just realized that I have virtually the same box colors for the kids but in masculine versus feminine shades...and all in the same positions on their shelves. That was seriously unintentional!!! Does that mean I'm sub-consciously OCD?
Things I still want to do: Go through Oliver's clothes to see what fits/what doesn't fit and put the smaller clothes up for storage. Also, organize Anthony's room and put away the pile of post-baby items that have been in my room since Anthony was born....yes, that would be almost 5 months ago.
I told you, hopeless homemaker.
I will get there! And then it will be time for something else to burden me...housework is never actually complete. Sometimes it's because I just don't want to do it...other times it is because I am also a mother and that takes precedence.
Oliver was a pirate this morning.
He was pretending he had an eye patch over his eye...
Love these kiddos!
Leah joined me in the computer/conference room and got up on the table
Silly...She has been such a jabber-jaws lately...like almost non-stop. Sometimes I don't mind, but sometimes I boil over. OOPS. Average mother.
Average everything. Average cook. I actually semi-made dinner this evening. We are in the middle of a Missions Conference at church right now, so I don't really want to make anything for dinner that is going to take a while to clean up or else I have to come home to a mess.
And then I FREAK OUT!
My hunk-a-hunk-a-burnin'-love got home later this evening so he stayed home (with Oliver) and grilled the chickies. This is one of my favorite family meals. Super simple, as always...
Take your chickies...
Trim the fat
(Wash your hands) Gather your seasonings
(Best BBQ sauce...unless you prefer another) Salt and Pepper BOTH sides
Slather those chickies in BBQ goodness
Don't be afraid to rub it in...
The thing I love about most of the food from Cocina Christa (me) is that you can cook them however you wish: Grill, Broil, Pan Cook, Bake, Slow Cooker...whatever! My favorite style for cooking these BBQ chickies is either Grilling or Broiling.
Sadly, I did not get to partake in these chickies. I left the house before they got placed on the grill. And my hunk did not leave anything for me! That's okay, I picked up amazing Chinese food on the way home.
